Grantee submission by: Danielle Ruhf, Executive Director/Founder
How did the funding or non-monetary support you received from the Foundation impact your organization and/or the community?
With the funding we’ve received from Moses Taylor Foundation we’ve been able to provide 70,000 weekend bags of food which is the equivalent of 420,000 meals locally.
Share a quote or anecdotal story from a client or employee of your organization that illustrates the impact of your work.
One of our schools shared several benefits of the program. The program nourishes students in need of food on weekends and provides snacks for students in need during school and after school programs, provides leadership and learning opportunities for student council members and students in special programs when delivering food to classrooms, and offers an opportunity to help for kids in need of mentoring.
What do you most want the community to know about your work and/or what excites you most about the future of your organization?
Our grassroots program has gone from serving 45 children weekly in 2019 to now serving 20,000 weekly. This upcoming school year we will be serving 50,000 students weekly with plans to expand to 100,000 weekly by the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
