Overview

The Foundation has focused its work to support school nurses on the following five strategies:

• Supporting advocacy for regular re-evaluation of school health laws, mandates and policies
• Building connections between school nurses and other stakeholders, and increasing awareness of the role of school nurses, and their challenges
• Professional development specific to school nurses’ work
• Investigating alternative staffing and funding models
• Mitigating COVID impact

For its work to date, the Foundation was awarded the Friend of School Nursing award from the Pennsylvania Association of School Nurses in 2021.
